Peoria is home to 36 neighborhood parks, three large community parks, and 27 miles of public trails that allow residents to hike, bike, and experience the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert.
Spring Training
Peoria is the spring training home of the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners. The Peoria Sports Complex was the first Major League Baseball Spring Training and player development facility in the country shared by two teams.
Lake Pleasant
The city of Peoria is home to a scenic desert oasis - Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Surrounded by the Sonoran desert, it is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream destination for action and adventure. There are 12.5 miles along New River from Northern Avenue to Williams Road, 5.7 miles along Skunk Creek from 83rd Avenue to 51st Avenue in Glendale, and 11.25 miles of Mountain Hiking Trails.

Spanning much of the Northwest Valley, the Peoria Unified School District is located in Glendale, Peoria, Surprise and Youngtown, Ariz. The district has a rich tradition of excellence, serving the community since 1889.
